It's hard to say at this point as it did hit over $100 a while back.

We crossed the $100 threshold a while back. It should now be will we fall back to $100 or less? Its possible we will by this September if nothing interferes with the current decline in prices.

The question should be now, if it would ever go under $100 again.

Shouldn't we retire this question, since oil already hit $100 per barrel?

A while back. Better to now ask when will it hit $150 a barrel. I say, with the speculators still driving the price up we may reach that well before the end of summer.

I think we have not only reached this price, but will go beyond it at this point. The gas refineries are making lots of money off of us.

They will tease $100, drop to mid 80s then roar past on some lame excuse like it rained at an oil refinery in Thailand.

Anyone who suggests that prices could be brought down by increasing supply is dead wrong. It will bring higher prices even sooner, as higher production now means less production down the road. Then prices will have to go to unimaginable high levels.
Oil is not finished, it will be around for years and get used, just less of it! Alternatives cannot lower cost now (oil is still cheap) but development of alternatives will help thwart future otherwise even steeper price increases!

It has been demonstrated that we will pay $3/gallon of gas. We keep setting the floor higher. We must bite the bullet and have an Apollo program to get a better way to power our vehicles. We can't get out of them. Mobility is a key factor in economic development and we are totally dependent on the Arab fanatics in the Middle East. We get stupider every day.
